Nashville Parks & Rec. presents:

African drumming classes

No experience needed & drums are provided!

Have fun connecting with other folks while playing African drums. This workshop is for teens and adults. In the process you will improve your rhythmic understanding and time feel. You will also learn the sounds on the djembe (hand drum) as well as  accompaniments, breaks and solo phrases while learning West African rhythms from Guinea, Mali, Ivory Coast and Ghana. Clifford Koufman carries a world of musical experience to every scenario playing djembe, drum set, bells, and shakers.

 
 

Location: Centennial Performing Arts Studios-211 27th Ave. North

When: April 30- May 21 (four classes)
